A Junior Researcher (postdoctoral) position is open to study
the regulation of the MAP kinase and apoptotic pathways and their
functions in integrin-mediated cell adhesion and migration. We are
particularly interested in the roles of PEA-15 and related proteins in these
processes, however we welcome new ideas. Because of
the fundamental nature of this work it has applications to a number of
pathological states including two areas of research focus in our group: glioblastoma and neuroblastoma.
We are using methods such as transgenic mice, microarray
analysis, flow cytometry, expression cloning, FRET, and confocal microscopy.
The University of Hawaii Cancer Center is a top rank research institution and one of only 61 NCI designated Cancer Research Centers. The Cancer Center is a part of the University of Hawaii at Manoa and is adjacent to the Queens Medical Center. We share close collaborations with the John A. Burns School of Medicine. The center is undergoing significant growth and our lab has relocated to spacious, new state of the art research space. We are in Honolulu on the beautiful island of Oahu in Hawaii.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. or M.D.
with an extensive background in Cell Biology and Biochemistry.
Lab experience doing Molecular Biology is required. The successful
candidate will have peer-reviewed publications attesting to their
expertise.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in signal
transduction, immunology or transgenic mice.
Join our team and make a contribution to the fight against cancer!
