The Shared
Resource was established in August 1999 with the acquisition of a Becton
Dickinson FACScan flow cytometer. The goal of the Flow Cytometry Shared
Resource is to provide access and technical expertise to Cancer Center
investigators. Specifically the goals of this Resource are to provide:
- Flow cytometer
instrumentation for flow cytometric analysis of cells and the software
and hardware for the analysis of this data
- Training
and instruction in the use of the flow cytometer and/or the hardware
and software for analysis of data obtained by flow cytometry staff
- Assistance
with establishment of new assays methods and technical expertise
In addition
to the FACScan, the facility has new FACS Station hardware and Cell Quest,
FACS Comp, FACS Convert, and for cell cycle analysis, ModFit LT software.
Investigators
with a need for flow cytometry services should contact Dr. Warn-Cramer
who will arrange scheduling. Additionally, authorized users will need
to schedule their usage times. Only users who are trained and authorized
by Dr. Warn-Cramer are permitted to use the instrument.
