Laboratory
Support Shared Resource

Laboratory Support supplies the following support services for laboratory-based programs at the Cancer Research Center of Hawai‘i. This resource is operated in order to streamline and make more centralized the following common laboratory needs:
- Collecting and disposing of biological and chemical hazardous waste.
- Maintaining chemical inventories for the laboratories.
- Providing student help for general laboratory duties, including washing and sterilizing glassware and preparing sterile culture media and buffers.
- Maintaining training records to ensure compliance with all state and federal safety standards.
- Producing and distributing liquid nitrogen for cryogenic purposes. This facility will be fully operational upon purchase of a liquid nitrogen generator planned for late 2004.
