Laboratory Support supplies the following support services for
laboratory-based programs at the Cancer Research Center of Hawai‘i.
This resource is operated in order to streamline and make more
centralized the following common laboratory needs:
Collecting
and disposing of biological and chemical hazardous waste.
Maintaining chemical inventories for the laboratories.
Providing
student help for general laboratory duties, including washing and
sterilizing glassware and preparing sterile culture media and
buffers.
Maintaining training records to ensure compliance with all state
and federal safety standards.
Producing
and distributing liquid nitrogen for cryogenic purposes. This facility
will be fully operational upon purchase of a liquid
nitrogen generator planned for late 2004.
