The Clinical Trials Unit is located in the University of Hawaii Cancer Research Center of Hawaii (CRCH). The Clinical Trials Unit has been taking part in national cancer studies since 1979. Throughout the country, cancer patients and individuals at risk of cancer can take part in clinical trials. Clinical trials are accessible through community based cancer centers, community hospitals and physician offices and local outpatient cancer clinics. All data management for the clinical trials found in this web-site is conducted at the CRCH by experienced clinical research associates (see About Us).

The Clinical Trials Unit of the CRCH has been taking part in national research studies as a Minority-Based Community Clinical Oncology Program (MBCCOP), which is funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
Taking part in the MBCCOP has enabled Hawaii to be involved with national and international studies through cooperative groups such as:
The Hawaii MBCCOP participates in over 100 clinical trials, 95% of Hawaii oncologists participate with the MBCCOP.
To learn more about the studies offered and how you or a loved one might participate, ask your physician or contact our Clinical Trials Unit for more information.
