The fight against cancer is a nonstop battle for the scientists and staff at the Cancer Research Center of Hawai‘i. More and more, private donations play an important role in financing this fight. With planning and generosity of heart, you can make a difference.

 

How You Can Help
Gifts of cash
You can simply write a check, payable to the Cancer Research Center of Hawai‘i (or CRCH) and sending it to the attention of the Development Officer, 1236 Lauhala Street, Honolulu, HI 96813. Also, please let the Center know if you are giving "In Memory of", "In Honor of", or a general donation.

You can give appreciated securities, or real estate to the Cancer Research Center to endow a program or scholarship, either in one lump sum or, depending on the asset you wish to contribute, by pledging an amount over a number of years.  Giving outright provides an immediate benefit and you can see your gift put immediately to good use.

You can also make the Cancer Research Center the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or a qualified retirement plan such as an IRA, a 401(k) or a 403(b).

Bequests
Next to writing a check, the best known vehicle for philanthropy is a bequest. A bequest establishes your wishes today without relinquishing needed assets during your lifetime. You can make a bequest through your Will or Revocable Living Trust to endow a program or scholarship after you pass away.  You can designate a percentage of your estate, a specific dollar amount, the rest and residue of your estate, or a combination of these options.

Planned Gifts
You can make a gift of cash, appreciated securities, or real estate in exchange for a life-income plan, such as a charitable gift annuity, deferred payment charitable gift annuity, or charitable remainder trust.  The benefit of this method of giving is that you receive lifetime income, an income tax deduction, and capital gains savings (if applicable).  After you pass away, the remaining assets are distributed to the Cancer Research Center of Hawai‘i.

Donating a Vehicle
The Cancer Research Center of Hawai‘i accepts donations of cars, trucks, and other vehicles through Kokua-in-Kind at 530 Paiea Street in Honolulu. They can be reached at (808) 834-6603.
