Cancer Research Center of Hawai‘i Awarded $6.7 Million for National Study

Dr. Loic Le Marchand, director of the Epidemiology Program of the Cancer Research Center of Hawai'i (CRCH) has been named one of four scientists to receive a major portion of $31 million in grants from the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), one of 27 institutes and centers at the National Institutes of Health. The grant, to be received over the next four years, will go to research aimed at increasing understanding of how specific gene variants act to influence the risk of diabetes, heart disease, cancer and other diseases.
